Woodlark Hotel

What a great hotel! Nice and clean, super friendly staff, and comfortable rooms, all located in a very central location. There were offers of free martinis and coffee as well. Breakfast was available, and they have a restaurant attached, which seemed to be popular. We stayed in a standard king, and they accommodated an early check in. We completed check in and check out online, which was very convenient. Please note, there were certain aspects of the room design that was strange to us. The bathroom door slides and doubles as the closet door, which meant there was a humorous moment where my husband’s luggage prevented me from leaving the bathroom. Easily fixed by moving it. The other, the door for the shower opens in towards the shower. For somebody in a much larger body like myself, that meant going into the corner of the shower and having the door bump my belly to close it. This won’t be an issue except for a very small percentage of people. The hotel responded elsewhere that there are other rooms with different layouts, so just ask. I didn’t realize until I went to shower the next day.

We spent a week at The Woodlark in July, and had a great experience! The staff are so welcoming, and helpful and they even upgraded our room. The rooms are beautiful, and stocked with waters, and nice shampoos/lotions, etc although the rooms are pretty small. The hotel is quiet, but there was an event going on Friday night, which was very loud and even on the top floor kept us up until after midnight. The coffee shop downstairs is delicious! We didn't try the restaurant as it didn't have great vegan options. Hotel is in a good location, with a Target walking distance, and a short walk to public transportation! Overall we were very pleased with our stay, and would definitely recommend to a friend and would stay again 😊

Half the lights in my room didn't work, nor did the fridge. The room also felt smaller than I expected, possibly because the shower was absolutely massive in all directions. If you are a football linebacker then the shower stall should be the right size for you. The hotel staff were fantastic. They were very pleasant and helpful with anything we need.

Wonderfully quiet hotel that feels very high end and classy. Attractive design and very clean throughout. The most impressive (and important) thing to me is the quiet though. Although located close to public transport, I couldn't hear any trace of the Max from my room (which is certainly not true of all Portland hotels). I rarely heard the other guests or staff, and even the mini fridge was completely quiet! High quality touches throughout the room, a beautiful bathroom sink, large shower with a perfectly weighted door that stays exactly where you open it, and effective black out curtains. Considering the very reasonable room price, you can't really go wrong.
